New Gender War by Brianne Carlevale

The gender war, being that men hold the upper hand in society, they will continue to be cheating, non-nurturing and sex focused, while women will continue to be mothering and invest in their children. The "new gender war", being more of a variation on the roles, and not our genes is causing this more so than how we act with our biological course in society. Gender-specific skills come from distinct psychological mechanisms that are traced back to the principle of sexual selection.

Previously in one study, men for biological reasons can have as many children as women they impregnate, thus making the woman solely bound to their offspring. While studies show that men react to a woman's appearance as being sexual, they also tend to prefer more sexual partners than women do. Women prefer that men invest in their children and themselves, but by doing so; men lose the opportunity to have multiple sexual partners. Many men do parent their children, but not as much as women. The impact of these elements varies from culture to cultures. The fact is that no culture will ever change the fact that men reproduce faster than women, and it is sad to say that there is no culture in which there is equality between man and woman.

The basis biological basic, or how society sees it, a man's strength equals a woman's reproductive capabilities. We encourage men and women to follow certain patterns. Women take care of the children and their careers are secondary. While the man is shunned upon as a caregiver, he should be out doing more physical or important things. This is the way society sees it or says is the correct way.

The difference between men and women is also said to be the result of humanity moving through the environment. As the environment changes the way we socialize changes too. It is a slow change, and so far it is favoring more towards women. Women have been taking on more masculine qualities, they have steadily been moving into highly male-dominated areas. Not so much of a shift change in men, they haven’t tended to be more nurturing or kind in these recent studies. What is critical for more equality is a less sharp division of labor.

Men continue to follow their past patterns, while women are breaking boundaries, and the inequalities of society are being reduced. I feel that men and women should maintain a level of biological patterns. What is biological should remain unchangeable. Societies have to make the adult system work so socialization of girls and boys must be guided. Girls must be given the experience of nurturing and boys the sense of competition to maintain a healthy society.
